I was overthinking it, like I was thinking the PPS should go up once the retired shares have settled, since there are less shares available to trade, increasing PPS. But realized the bid/ask always determines the price, so it's up to sellers to increase the price by selling at a much higher PPS since there are less shares, but of course no rule to enforce that since free market trading.
