I might have been to hasty - it seems that most of that list is funds and trusts... Maybe this is a more true list of companies that pay monthly dividends; https://www.suredividend.com/monthly-dividend-stocks/

I.e still rare (only 40), but it happens (might depend somewhat on the industry, i.e it would be easier for a real estate companies with rental income to pay monthly than companies with an uneven income).

More interesting is that it seems to be something that more and more people want, cfr all the funds and trusts that are doing it (15 times as many funds/trusts as companies?). From what I understand this is something that is becoming sort of a thing, it does seem very comfortable (especially for retired people) to have a stable passive income.
