Section 280E of the Federal Income Tax Code is in the California Senate Committee for Review and Assembly Bill 1863 Will Soon Follow.
The good news... the tax code is under review by the California Senate Committee and and there may even be some help along the way at the state level. On April 30, 2018, the California Assembly's Rev. & Tax. Committee will consider Assembly Bill 1863, proposed by the state's most active cannabis friendly assembly members, Jones-Sawyer, Bonta, Lackey and Wood. AB 1863 would allow starting or tax year 2018, the deduction of business expenses for cannabis trade or business for CA state tax payers.
