"Also the people helping Premium Aerotec certify their 3d parts is Laser Zentrum Nord."

A bit of an oversimplification. Per the 2015 PR posted:

https://www.premium-aerotec.com/en/media/press-releases/premium-aerotec-reaches-an-agreement-on-collaboration-for-the-industrialisation-of-printed-aircraft-components/

Back in 2015, Aerotec started to work with LZN "to certify the processes needed for the manufacturing of printed aircraft components and to begin series production." They were setting up the whole manufacturing chain with LZN's help, not just part certification.

“In order to achieve this we need to manage the complete process chain and acquire a dependable supply chain.”

"At present, Laser Zentrum Nord GmbH is unique in its knowledge of the development of ALM constructions and the underlying processes. The process chain comprises all stages from devising the initial product ideas through to developing quality assured, functional components"

So the certification effort was for the entire chain and not just for the "part certification" needed at the end of the manufacturing chain.

Per the current article Aerotec is still trying to get certification for serial production this year.

So is LZN still working with Aerotec to achieve certification? Is part of the hold up due to a lack of an acceptable "part certification" process to complete the process chain?

We know that Sigma started working with LZN in December to certify its IPQA® Methodology for Serial Production.

Maybe LZN has found a source for the final missing piece to serial production certification process puzzle.
