Why do you think we got duped out of the IP? A business decision was made to take lower up front $ and no more investment in return for a much higher royalty as opposed to more investment with the hope of future profits.

Think of it this way, if the IP isn't worth anything, then the company came out ahead, maybe as little as $8M. If anyone bought the IP for $8M just so something worth more didn't get to market, yea, we got duped, but the other person/group is an idiot because they are sitting on an asset worth more than what they paid. That doesn't pass the smell test. If the IP is worth a lot more, and the new owner successfully takes it to market, CDMO and you will come out just fine with the royalties.

If the deal had more typical royalties associated with it, then I would say we all got taken, but that isn't the case.
