The plane would only need to be on a valid operator certificate(like Songbird's) if it is flying Part 121/passenger revenue operations. If it is being flown purely for testing or ferrying to another airport for maintenance, scrap, or any number of reasons it can be flown under Part 91 rules which is no different than someone flying a single engine Cessna on a $100 hamburger run.

I find it comical that people are still fixated on a 30 year old air frame. As far as the company official line goes, that deal was terminated. Period.

This speculation about XTRA and BLTA somehow being a new deal for us is just silly. Luckily that wait will be over soon when the details of the XTRA deal are public, revealing that BLTA dba USGL has NO skin that game.

The plane that I asked about here a few weeks or so ago has finally showed up on Flightaware today thanks to a poster on the other board. The plane was listed in the posted for sale planes in November then removed in mid March on the company website. Other details emerged that I was not aware of and kinda get me excited. Also, how can this plane fly when the Songbird certificate was dead as many here posted?
