IMO ur-on-the-right-track,what I heard-from-someone-who-knows-players: "My instinct is that the company will likely reorganize because the big backers will want their money. We recently filed the long-overdue annual report from last year..." Yeah gaps to fill in for sure, but there is movement behind the scenes, your last sentences and connections may turn out correct too.

"There's a chance that a new CEO will come in and try to take the company in a new direction and bring our SEC filings current again."
CFO Victoria Rudman is still in that post but per the PR moving on to more immediately lucrative co's too like involving Jamaican weed... how will the co's intertwine -- she's got Kaplan in the mix too...?
Will they get a CEO who's not just in it for salary but shares risk-reward? Depends how they structure their deals...MHO, at these levels can be good risk-reward for new investors too. Waste to sell & squander if you're already in MO. Waiting 4 story to play out...
