What's funny (but not in the humorous sense) is that all these companies and all their experts, for the better part of 10 years, have never made the slightest move to buy or license vplm patents. It has been suggested that is possibly because they all (hundreds of companies ALL thought with the same mindset, lol, lol, lol) figured they could beat vplm in court or beat them thru attrition. That is flawed thinking.. If you are smart enough to know the patents are all they purport to be, then you also, intrinsically, know that something of that much value) because you know it to be the real thing), would have no problem reaching & garnering all the help it needs, legally, monetarily or otherwise, in order to make its way through the system to eventual success! That, is a given, when considered by smart & savvy teams of experts that all these companies possess.
So they would KNOW....ahead of time...via their DD, that they would NOT likely be able to beat vplm thru attrition for the reasons stated above..... AND therefore, they would ALSO know, as I have stated many times, that would equate to the the eventual huge meteor coming the way of each and every one of these companies as alleged infringers AND that the meteor would not be just one of those everyday common garden variety meteors, but would be more like the event that created our moon.
The work done so far by vplm to assess value, using the methods they have... show it to be in the hundreds of billions, possibly into the trillions, considering all the companies not even sued or even identified yet. (haha, they DID identify close to 60 of them, but something [I wonder what?] made them go back and remove that list, lol).
Thus, to believe that ALL these companies, having all the experts and DD done, and KNOWING the patents are "all that", and KNOWING that since the patents really are ALL THAT, vplm would have no problem keeping up the resources needed to uphold the fight, would CHOOSE to play with FIRE of such magnitude, is LUDICROUS!
There are easily better reasons even simple minds can come up with, which trump the "we can defeat em through attrition" arguments. As I have laid out, that is an overused and weak argument, full of holes and was shown on Letterman to "not float".
