Yes- this is wonderful.

After a snowy Monday that postponed the home opener, the Chicago Cubs finally got to start their season at Wrigley Field on Tuesday. And thankfully, Sister Jean and the Loyola men’s basketball team were able attend the rescheduled game.

Yes, that Sister Jean. The Cubs invited the 98-year-old nun, along with the Loyola men’s basketball team, to Wrigley Field for the home opener. The team’s incredible play — aided by Sister Jean’s inspirational presence, of course — gave them a magical Cinderella story and landed them in the Final Four. They weren’t able to make it to the finals, but the Cubs wanted to honor their achievement during the pregame festivities.

Sister Jean did just fine on the diamond, too. The popular 98-year-old chaplain of the Loyola-Chicago basketball team that reached the Final Four switched sports Tuesday, throwing out a first ball before the Cubs' home opener.
