Yes, good points. I read about using the tokens to pay for trades very early on. I haven't seen this mentioned in a while, so I may be holding onto old information here. Rereading the document I linked a bit ago, it's telling that there's no longer a mention of this use. They even specifically state that the tokens will have no utility.
