Regardless, the dollar value of their share-based compensation is still way excessive. And the fact that they award themselves these salaries, and they award themselves these bonuses, and award themselves other "fees" that are all excessive makes it even worse.
The notion that they are somehow working for free, out of the goodness of their hearts, on behalf of shareholders, is belied by the facts on the ground.
