I think IHSI's "quiet thing" is like the baking of the cake, now we wait for the icing on the cake, and the decorative topping and lathering of cherries or strawberries (pick your fruit) and freshly made cream. Singer didn't go away quietly, IMO. Perhaps he has a little chocolate crumb cake lingering on his finger tips?
