Let's do the math.

As impressive as $2.5 million for the month for a bootstrapped beverage start-up is, I think what is even more impressive would be knowing unit sales, which is a gauge of consumer acceptance.

If you sell 10 - $250,000 luxury items for $2.5 million, that doesn't really tell you too much. That's ten people.

But if you sell $2.5 million dollars worth of something selling for $0.50 - that's a lot of units. And a lot of people. One person can only drink so many bottles of water in a day.

So what we'll try to do when we're not busy is try to figure out how many bottles were actually sold.

That would entail trying to average the net price (to the company) that created the $2.5 in revenues. Interesting.
