How will the coin collecting hobby react to the recovery of sunken treasure from the S.S. Pulaski?
You can be forgiven if you have never heard of the 1838 shipwreck.

For the heck of it I just reached in my pocket and pulled out my change. I have 4 quarters, 3 dimes, and a nickel.
The nickel was minted in 1979. One quarter is a 1998 and another is a 2002. These folks were traveling, some with their life savings.
Could one of them have been carrying a 16 year half eagle that today is worth 8 figures? According to my 8 ball........YES.
The issue is finding it and bringing on deck. Maybe there’s more than 1. But anything pre 1834 can be extremely valuable. Finding 1 or 2 1822 half eagles would make for a tremendous headline.
