Facebook is learning about lack of data protection the hard way and now also paving the way for GDRP like new data protection regulations to be created and take effect here in the states. Maybe a billion dollar class action lawsuit by Facebook users whose data was stolen will motivate Facebook and other companies to take their customers data protection seriously? We'll see how fast these companies shape up once they know their pocketbooks will be effected.
