There can be no doubt that Steve V was a terrible manager. Maybe a brilliant software guy, but he had no business holding a job as the CEO. Plus he's certifiably dishonest.

I think what we're witnessing in his sales are the ongoing costs of his litigation against DSNY. I'm not sure for what other sort of job he's qualified, but this is his second go-round trying to run Destiny into the ground.
