Thanks for the info. I wasn't aware of the Intrexon developments and if he is the CEO he will be very busy indeed.

My other two operating theories were that he might be departing due to some sort of unpublicised #MeToo misdeeds, or, as someone on Twitter surmised, that it was in order to make way for a transitional board in preparation for a takeover. Both of these theories are mere speculation and I have no facts to back them up. Your theory holds more water, IMHO.

Honestly, he has been so quiet on HALO that I had mistakenly thought that he had already departed from the BOD some time ago. I agree with your assessment that the main role he has now with HALO is to keep that 12% stake intact, and he has stated that he has no plans to sell.
