Best in show — Adirondack Theatre Festival director Chad Rabinovitz, far left, with (from the right) Getting Grace actress Marsha Dietlein Bennett, Festival Committee Chair Patty Malone Kircher, Adirondack Theatre Festival Board director Andrew Meader, and actor-screenwriter-director Daniel Roebuck of Getting Grace. His movie, about a scrappy 16-year-old dying of cancer who befriends a funeral director, was voted audience favorite — and he plans to return and make his next indie movie here, he said. About 45 to 50 filmmakers attended — some with spouses and even children. Princess Bride star Chris Sarandon’s wife, actress Joanna Gleason, was camouflaged in large glasses and a headscarf.
The festival screened 80+ features and short films in five theaters over two days. With 19 headlining or feature movies and 11 “blocks” of shorts, there were 30 events, plus the screenwriters panel talk....
…
Trust Jessica Levandoski, the Film Festival’s programming director, whose taste and indie movie connections again brought in a remarkable, fine line-up of films.
...
Screenings were added on the fly for popular titles like Getting Grace — the eventual “Best of the Fest” people’s choice winner...

"Like the POSTMAN...", ...ha ha ha...It's great to see a film that's getting so much creative attention, support, is in a great genre, making it a family-friendly film (no cursing, violence, abuse, & the like), & is proudly on display & promoted by the creator: Not to mention an AWARD WINNER!!
That should bode well for Redbox, Netflix, Target, WalMart, Hulu, & TV distribution...& post-Theatrical Release SALES!
Going to be interesting to see how it does: Watching.
