The facts: License with UCF paid per Master Agreements terms and conditions...PERIOD. ALL employees are paid and current on their pay...PERIOD. Ek moved to WPB for several reasons: Lease was up in Orlando; Space was to big for next phase; current WPB location close to office and less than 1/2 the rent in Orlando and finally tech no longer in need of Blair or UCF support; and finally BECAUSE THE COMPANY CHOSE TO MOVE IT. As far as leaving valuable equipment behind....NONSENSE. the only thing left was personal property of Blair and another former consultant, and it is/was their responsibility to dispose of. Filings are up to date, K will be ontime, as usual, barring some unforeseen auditor issue. Its amazing to me what is consider controversy.
Lets be clear on the Role of the "Inventor". First of all nothing was "invented", nothing. Mechanical Chemistry is as old as time. What was discovered is a way of using it to break cellulose bonds. The sole responsibility was to bring the process to a point that is can be scaled to commercial size...NOT TO COMMERCIALIZE IT. The inventor wouldnt have a clue how to commercialize it. It takes major chemical companies up to 14 years to bring a new process to market. 14 YEARS...let that sink in. Its been less than 4. These deals are complicated and involve an unproven (commercial) technology.
Now lets get to the Meat and Potatoes of this discussion. Sr management has asked me to mediate a face to face meeting with the naysayers so that they can bring them up to speed on all these issues and possibly enlighten them to some of the misconceptions they have about the company and technology. In the interest of fairness and journalistic integrity as it were (since someone is a Woodward and Bernstein wannabe) i am sure these two will accept and be eager to learn the truth. Of course we are not holding our breath...they dont want truth or understanding. They merely want to hurt the company because of some perceived slight. What say you, you got the courage to stand up for your convictions and meet with these folks? (redacted)
