There has been lots of talk locally about this.

However, we are a jaded group here in town for several reasons.

The aluminum plant closed years back, around the same time the last large lumber mill shut down. The town took a MAJOR hit during this, and the aluminum plant closed AFTER stealing the pensions of all 700+ people who were employed there. That's 700 local families in a small community that had to start over. Most left the area... The Kushlan plant also closed here, snowboard shop went out of business and well a few small others closed up as they supported the employee's of those operations. Renewable energy (wind turbines - my industry) brought a minor resurgence, but by no means a replacement for the aluminum plant.

Additionally, as I stated before, this is not the first time we have heard of Auscrete and its plans for success. I would say the general sentiment is that we "hope" they're not full of crap and this works because out community needs jobs. So there is lots of talk and scuttle about the possibility. However it is met with skepticism because again, this is not the first time we have heard this from Auscrete. This was slotted for Dallasport, WA about 40 minutes West of here on the 14 (directly across from the nearest "big" city of The Dalles). Rufus, Auscrete's headquarters is a 15 minute drive directly across the river from us.

To sum up this long windiness, from the long time locals I have spoke to, we all truly hope this works out and is legit as it's another step in rebuilding our community.

Once they actually break ground and begin to build, I will invest in this company because then imo it will be real. Until then, it's fun to hope and dream.

I will gladly post updates as I hear them and even though I'm not currently invested, my hope is that I soon will be, because that will mean that this is legit and will benefit my community in addition to my portfolio.
