That is truly thoughtful magnanimous of you. Just be aware those years of pension credits do not go away. He will get his pension at some point in time in the future. The delay due to being fired is just temporary. Don't ask when because I don't know the particulars. His social security is intact and his Thrift Savings Plan complete with his and his agencies contributions is in his name and cannot be taken away. There's a lot of smoke here for the msm to blow but the fire is really small. Not to say he isn't hurt by this but it is not as bad as some are making out. I helped many on their federal retirements for many years.One caveat- if he gets criminally charged with anything, OPM(Office of Personnel Management) could pull his pension permanently at their discretion. OPM is where all federal retirees go when they retire, as in the agency that handles them. But his social security and TSP are his forever. Hope this helps.
