Everyone in the business knows Mel, not ran but owned a California dive shop "Mel's Aquashop". I didn't say he was treasure hunting in California but rather shipwreck diving. My post specifically said he began his first treasure hunting ventures with Kip Wagner of the Real Eight Company. Actually, it began before that when he sold out all his interests in California to finance an expedition to the Silver Bank to look for the 1641 Concepcion which he failed to find but was later found by Burt Webber. Point once again being that fisher was a "hands on" treasure hunter, treasure finder, quite different than the CEO of this company.
