As I have pointed out already this is the OTC, not NASDAQ or the NYSE. Broker/dealer activity is quite different in the OTC...and a lot of what is discussed in that “article” pertains primarily to Exchange trading which are the examples they are using.

Besides NONE of the “tricks” listed in that article have anything to do with shorting.

I am not saying MM’s are above reproach. In the OTC many MM’s can be shady. But that is almost ALWAYS associated the the selling of unregistered stock into the Market without registration or exemption from registration on behalf of their insider stock scamming customers.

One look at the type of SEC enforcement actions that are brought against broker/dealers.... Most are what I have described above...not “shorting”.

And the irony is the “marks” buying up this unregistered stock are only too willing to suggest it is MM shorting when the pps is tanking instead of the reality which is quite the opposite.
