NEW YORK, Oct 10 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks were little changed on Tuesday as oil prices slipped, while some investors were cautious before aluminum producer Alcoa Inc. (AA.N: Quote, Profile, Research), the first Dow component to report earnings, posts its results after the market closes.

Qualcomm Inc. (QCOM.O: Quote, Profile, Research) was the largest drag on the Nasdaq after the U.S. International Trade Commission found the handset chip maker had infringed on some of rival Broadcom Corp.'s (BRCM.O: Quote, Profile, Research) patents.

Qualcomm fell 1.8 percent to $35.56 on the Nasdaq and Broadcom fell 0.2 percent to $29.55.
