I was responding to your remark - "If you are a long why would you want or need one"? Just wondering if "long" means 1)you won't sell no matter how low it may fall or if it just means 2)you are willing to hold for years unless it REALLY tanks? I'm saying my position is along the lines of #2. You may be right - it may be I am not genuinely long depending on the definition of "long"? Can someone be long and still have a stop loss or not? You seemed to indicate not? I don't know I'm just trying to learn.
