Just because someone downloads the app doesn't mean they subscribe to the service. There might be 10,000 + downloads but right now roughly 2,000 people are paying $35 a month. Once the ads start rolling odds are pretty good the subscriber rate will continue to grow. The numbers aren't confusing, you are just trying to spin things in your favor.
