One can always hope for such a discount.

(I always want to buy more lower)

but selling with no price preservation would only undermine their own value.

Instead what I usually see is a flurry of news or a promo to get it sold at the highest prices with increased volume. 3/1 should coincide nicely with upcoming news.

They hand the shares off to a specialist to "provide liquidity with price preservation". One of the services MM's provide.

I wonder if those whales on the bid every day ARE the previous PP buyers doing a little price propping ahead of getting their shares to sell. They would only gain in doing so.

I usually just do what the whales do. Works for me. Like a little pilot fish cleaning a whale shark's eyeball.
