Why did Jim include the REE comment?
So, why did he include the pargraph about other REEs in the PR. For no "apparrent" reason he mentions that the ore body includes other REEs but then says Niocorp has no plans to recover them. I think that means no plans NOW, things may/will change in the future. Yttrium is one of the other REEs. Its concentration in the Elk Creek ore is about three times the concentration of Scandium (300 ppm vs 100.) Niocorp plans to refine Sc from 100 ppm ore and sell it at $3,000-4000 a kilogram. That is the element that takes it from break even to highly profitable. I am seeing Y prices of $75/oz. That equates to $2640/kg. From every ton of ore you mine you get 100 grams (actually about 90 grams because you can't extract it all) of Sc and it is worth about $300. But that same ton also includes 300 grams of Y. Even if you can only extract 50%, that is another $3900. Am I missing something?
