Although it would probably be a logistical nightmare, the idea of giving raw foods to those in need is not a bad idea. The key is the preparation. In institutions like the schools where the school lunch program failed miserably, mass food prep precludes initiative to spice and flavor to taste. In a home kitchen there is far more latitude to create flavorful meals out of raw materials. We do it all the time here. Very few prepared foods enter our household. Not only is it healthier, but far less expensive also. JMHO
