I have been thinking about the upscale of this device and the targeted goal of 365 hours. After performance degradation has reached a threshold, the unit will need to be cleaned/refurbished/regenerated to some degree.

This immediately makes me think about my company's water treatment plant and the regeneration process on the mixed resin beds.
