And what did you propose they do with no money? Normally they would hire a broker to shop the patents around. They tried to find somebody that would sell them on contingency but nobody was willing to. They really have no expertise in selling patents or any idea of their worth. They're really just pencil pushers.

And as time was passing, there were fees and things that needed to be done to preserve the value of the patents. Patents have to be maintained. They aren't something that just sits on a shelf. PMI stepped in and out of their pocket paid the fees and had their lawyers do any necessary fillings.

For anybody else to get the patents they would have had to have really deep pockets and been willing to get in a bidding war with PMI. Once PMI scared off anybody else that had any interest in the patents, they didn't need to pay anything for them. They basically paid enough to cover Miller's fees and close everything down.
