In that same PR, they also stated:

"We are very eager to review the test results for this new line, as they come in."

That means that they were still testing this new transgenic silkworm line and awaiting results. In other words, they are still in the research phase trying to come up with a transgenic silkworm that will be large enough for the silk industry to process, but also have spider silk properties (strength, elasticity, etc). It might take many iterations and generations to get the desired results, and that could take months or years of research.
