I think the point is indexing works in a bull market such as we have experienced recently. Turn the computers on and leave the driving to the programmers.
When the market gets volatile or turns bearish you're better off buying selective stocks that insulate you from market corrections.
I don't like giving money back and at my age I can live with picking dividend stocks or bonds. The latter I need to rethink as well.
It's a rainy day here and I read and posted a couple of articles that leads me to think the economy is overheating and inflation and rates are going to go up. BWTFDIK.
