They're doing genomic science on cannabis to help make strains that are more drought tolerant, pest resistant, and also will serve as targeted therapeutics. By the last part I mean tayloring cannabinoids and terpenes etc to be appropriate for treating certain conditions. Eg like how the Charlotte's web strain is popular for use as an anti-sezure medicine because it's high CBD low THC. But that was made through traditional breeding, modern genome science allows a more targeted approach to balancing cannabinoids and can be done faster than selective breeding.
It seems they are currently operating like a startup that's in the "quiet phase". Waiting to go full reporting, and get the LA Veta lab fully operational I guess before doing more press releases etc. I suspect there's just not a lot to release yet.
I think they should clean up the weed Inc website though. It's very dated and doesn't reflect the current interests and objectives of the company from what I can tell. The S1 filing has better details on what they're doing and more importantly planning to do wit the proceeds from issuing new stock eventually, which I presume will be the kick starter for getting a cash influx eventually.
If these guys are able to get some good quality cannabis genomes sequenced and assembled, and if weed goes legal nation wide, expect someone like Monsanto to want to buy WEED Inc for their IP.
