My check cleared yesterday for a re-roof job.

Bill was a total of $9020 for stripping two layers of shingles, including $120 of planking replacement, new felt, rubber valley shields, new chimney cricket and flashing and 40 squares (4000 sq. ft.) of top grade 30 year architectural, high definition comp shingles.

Four bids ranged from approx $8000 to nearly $12,000, all from legitimate and highly recommended roofers in the Atlanta area.

I shudder to think what the tab would have been for tile which is seldom used in this area.

Does anyone know how labor costs compare using tile instead of composition shingles?
