hunchboy, as I recall, the market General Cable is considering is much larger than specialty wire for homes. It seems like ages ago when all the prospects for nano-wire were openly discussed. As I recall, a presentation by the chief honcho for MHTX on nano-metals presented a talk on the use of nano-aluminum cable for power grids throughout the world. His claim was nano-alumunum was stronger, lighter and had much lower ohmic power loss than present day power grids throughout the globe. He quoted the ohmic power loss for power grids. The amount I don't recall. However, I was impressed by his analysis.
