jerseyboy,

i'm in bergenfield today btw, i didn't say completely fixed fee audit. there will be some areas of hourly basis charges but for the most part kpmg has to hit a target price otherwise we wouldn't be waiting on kpmg as much as people think out here. if it were hourly we'd be getting our socks cleaned as it is taking far longer than sljb thought it would to complete. do i think kpmg will lose money on this engagement? i believe it 100% because as you point out it will lead to much more revenue down the road. we'd used to lose money on the initial audits all of the time because we'd take a long-term approach with our engagements. the stamford office of touche ross was #1 in the country in several areas for our firm. we thought long-term.
regards, buddy
p.s. sad that the good went out with the bad for anderson. all of this as always is imho.
