Since Moller bought the rights to the rotary engine and made improvements to it, what effect, if any, does that have on Mazda's talk of re-introducing the rotary engine in their new line of cars? Will they owe any royalties to Moller? Do they have a grandfather clause that allows them to start re-using the engines? Or have all applicable patents expired so they can do what ever they want with a rotary engine without regard property rights still held by Moller International?
