Here is the reality..

The software is usually standard for security, large datasets or log servers. One example of its use is as an event messaging service so: someone fails a log on attempt to my system... SPLUNK is parsing system messages and an automated email gets sent letting me know there was a failed log in attempt..

It's just standard practice software nothing new for LDSR..

LDSR is a customer for paying/using splunk (or oracle products)
