Not really. Shorts are never stuck. They can cover their short shares with shares of another like company. So the whole short squeeze ruse has no merit. Found that out from FINRA today. You can call FINRA and find out for yourselves. In fact the example given me was if Widget company A is on the REG SHO list and needs to cover, they can find shares of a like company, Widget company B, to cover their short and honor the REG SHO requirements.
