The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on Tuesday said it's acceptable for public companies to make announcements via social media sites like Facebook and Twitter

The SEC has changed it's tune since 2013, now it's the social media sources do not take the place of 8K's or other regulated filings that are materialistic in nature. Twits and fb are not to be accepted as fact or official corporate dealings.
