pre-market trading question. (specifically with Etrade, but also in general)

I just discovered that an extended-hours limit order I had open with Etrade executed. but the price was nowhere near the limit price during the pre market.

I just called Etrade and they told me it executed at about 7.45 am e.s.t.

that's impossible, I just again checked the time/sales of the ETN I wanted to short, and price never got near my limit order.

I was checking the time/sales around the executed time for some outlier, where the price spiked to fill my order, but didn't see any.

I asked them if extended hours trades are "active" during regular hours market, and I was told no. But it seems like they filled the order during regular market hours and retroactively logged it as filling the premarket order?

What the heck? I'll have to call back again. something is amiss.

Have you heard of something like this happening? where an extended hours order fills, but it takes a long time to actually be logged as such. weird.
