Key fact: lots of machines going in at a speedy pace & two fact filled meetings in the next month = "the need to get DPW shares bigtime, and to do so quickly"

We are watching powerful market maker style price influencing going on for a typical purpose: to take advantage of ordinary human behavior by triggering people out of shares so that major players can snarf up shares ahead of the two company sponsored meetings.

Here's their technique, and it does not matter whether you are seein g it in a $2 stock or in a currency pair.

They fish for shares by driving price to trigger stops.

Say a guy like you or me buys some shares of DPW in preparation for the upcoming meetings. The way people are taught to trade is to put protective stops in to hedge their bet. So, the trading desk guys see those protective stops. I mean.... they can see the entire book whereas we are all limited to the Level 2 displays. The trading desk guys have a distinct advantage because they can see what we can not. The stops are on theire screens, people.

And they know they are there anyway because human nature dictates that people are all gonna put in stops to "protect" themselves.

So, the players want to get into DPW in a big way. With a thin float, how are you going to do that? Easy. Artifically drive price to the area the stops are located in and thereby trigger the availability of shares. The stops are force liquidations, people. Drive the price, trigger the sells, and effectively get a larger position at a distinct advantage. Like cutting butter with a hot knife.

Simple. Comes as no surprise to me. Its the way the markets work, in actuality.
