Have taken a hiatus from new acquisition and write to ask about I can determine if above average performance is likely to continue.

Well, no one has a crystal ball but you might want to look at past performance - and I am not talking about past year. You want to look at how well they perform long term. See what they did during and after the drop in 2008. Look at Morningstar ratings or something like this: https://www.kiplinger.com/tool/investing/T041-S001-top-performing-mutual-funds/index.php
where you can use the pull down menu and pick which types of funds you need info on. That is, if I am understanding you correctly that you are looking for fund info and not individual stocks.
