RE: log deal BS, by Saywhat
Saywhat, staying in touch with reality, comments,
"Can you imagine the red tape, government requirements,
environmental studies, facilities that need to be built...
I bet we are talking 10 years down the road at the earliest."
I agree. I am interested this log deal is what kicked off
interest in FHAL / CSHD stock. Subsequently, the log deal
was called off, now the log deal is back on. I tend to
think this is all a publicity stunt, a way of manufacturing
company value which actually does not exist.
Not an expert on the Amazon river, but I do know a majority
of the river is not accessible by land. This log deal would
have to be a river borne operation requiring an extremely
expensive mobile infrastructure. How will CSHD attain cash
to finance a project of this enormity?
Greatest problem is developing a retail market. This type
of lumber, previously discussed, enjoys only a specialty
market, well outlined by National Geographic. This is,
the retail market for this lumber is relatively small.
Saywhat and others comment on costs, red tape, issues of
environmental damage, political concerns and many other
valid notions. Personally, I cannot rationalize this log
deal as being a profitable venture.
This is a well intended project, this is a good conceptual
idea to save the diminishing rain forests, but as a business
venture, I do not think this will pan out well.
