This is a great article on encapsulation being the holy grail for diabetes. In this article Dr Melton states they will work with any company with an encapsulation product. Wonder if something might be going on behind the scenes with PMCB? PMCB would be crazy to not want to work with such a well funded group... it wasn’t long ago, the austrianova deal was amended to include other cells (not just Melligen). There has to be a reason they wanted this so bad. My hunch is they are trying CIAB with other cells from other companies, maybe this one. I asked IR about a month ago why they were not working with Semma, the DRI or other companies with the problems they have had with Melligen cells. Their response was they could not comment on that. Which leads me to believe, there may be testing going on with other companies. If you couple that with the new austrianova deal, it’s likely something is going on behind the scenes..
