I agree with the comments in your link. Of course it costs cash to buyback shares . I never said it didn't but it doesn't cost them eps to do so. Raising wages is a direct expense though. Make wages high enough to keep good employees. Walmart voluntarily just raised their minimum wage by over 20%.

I also agree with you that some executives are overpaid, in fact, some senior executives are grossly overpaid. I generally avoid investing in companies that do so.

I could actually go along with making salaries paid to such executives non-deductible for corporate taxes over some level, maybe above $2 million.
