This has happened to me before, where one broker gives me the 100 shares, and the other gives me cash in lieu. Seems a bit fishy to me...

Once you have the 100 shares, I don't think they can take them away, but hey, stranger things have happened.

Interestingly, both times RBC was the one who gave me cash, while questrade gave me the shares... Im going to call RBC and find out on monday, though i'm sure that likely will get me nowhere.
