Hi Dick, welcome here. Am familiar with Kickstarter and think it is a great concept.

It works like this, you put up a new product that does not exist yet, people buy it and wait for it to be manufactured. The funders get a good deal and unless enough people put up the money, the money is refunded to funders.

If enough people do (think about 1/3 of time) then the company gets the money and produces and delivers the product.

Now with millions of people a week (literally) checking out projects on KickStarter, those people may decide to invest. BWMG is usually easy to do that with, as is publicly traded company, with a few keystrokes anyone can buy it.

So it publicizes the product and the stock also as a byproduct. People may want to wait and pay more later, but they now know the product exists. And agree with Yankee this is revolutionary product JMHO.
