The truth is the makeup of party affiliation in the Senate could make this a tricky situation and is definitely not a FOR SURE thing. The reality is this might come down to party politics.

If the Senate vetoes (unlikely but possible) then the Liberal gov will cry foul of the undemocratic nature of the Senate (fuelling that separate and long-term debate). Then again the Conservatives would benefit from throwing a wrench in the Liberal move to legalization...that's obvious given the rhetoric coming from some party leaders.

So it's a bit more complex than people are suggesting. Just be aware and follow it closely is my suggestion.
